Forest harvesting

We offer a complete logging service, from planning and consultation to the execution of felling, extraction, processing, and sale of timber. We help you choose the most appropriate approach and carry out logging according to your objectives and the specific characteristics of your property. Combitrans’s long-standing experience, professional team, and modern machinery fleet ensure smooth, fast, and high-quality work.

How is forest logging organized?

For a forest owner, logging is usually linked to the sale of harvesting rights. This means you sell us the right to cut the trees growing in your forest, and we take care of the entire process: planning the work, obtaining the necessary permits, carrying out the logging, and transporting the forest material. You receive fair compensation for your forest without having to worry about organizational details.

If desired, we also offer clean logging services – we carry out the logging work under a contract, while the sale of the forest material is managed partially or entirely by you.

Step-by-step process of forest logging:

  1. Initial consultation and assessment – we review the condition of your forest and discuss your goals.
  2. Planning and permits – we assist with logging permit applications and the planning of work.
  3. Execution of logging – we fell trees according to the agreement and collect the forest material.
  4. Extraction and logistics – we transport the forest material to the agreed location.
  5. Inspection and settlement – we finalize the work and process the agreed payments.

We support you at every stage with advice and assistance, answer any questions, and provide updates on the progress of the work.

What types of felling operations do we carry out?

The need for logging depends on the age, condition of the forest, and the owner’s objectives. Depending on the characteristics of the property, we carry out different types of felling.

Clear-cutting – harvesting all trees to renew the forest.
Thinning – selective removal to promote the growth of stronger trees.
Cleaning cut – creating light and space for growth in younger forests.
Selective cutting – felling individual trees selectively.
Shelterwood cutting – partial harvesting to ensure natural regeneration.
Gradual cutting – renewing the forest in multiple stages.
Maintenance cutting – removing diseased or damaged trees to improve forest quality.

If you are unsure which approach is best for your forest, we will assist and consult with you to determine together which type of felling is most suitable for achieving your goals. Our role as a forest harvesting organizer is to find the right solution for each forest—whether it’s clear-cutting, thinning, or selective cutting.

What determines the cost of forest harvesting?

  • Type of felling and scope of work
  • Location and accessibility
  • Equipment used
  • Quality and market value of the timber.
